Gabe Howard-Bipolar Educator

Gabe Howard thought his life was ended when he received a bipolar disorder diagnosis at age 26. Since he didn't know anyone who was successfully managing mental illness, he believed that his prospects were grim. He was alone, despondent, and powerless. However, he was able to recover after years of arduous work, family support, therapy, and much study.

But he would never forget the fear that accompanied his diagnosis. It became his life's work, in fact. "I wanted to be really, really vocal, so when the next person is diagnosed with mental illness, they think, you know there’s this one guy. He’s loud and seems to be doing OK,"he says

Definitely vocal. Gabe is a highly sought-after speaker, author, and award-winning podcast host these days. He has given several speeches in front of groups of people over the years, and he is still considered the authority on issues related to mental health and wellbeing, bipolar disease, and the difficulties that society and politics present for those who suffer from mental illness. Gabe had the great opportunity of giving a speech at Oxford University in England in November of 2022.
